Fans of the band took to Reddit to voice their discontent with what they see as exploitive pricing by Ticketmaster. One fan posted a screenshot of a checkout form comprising six tickets, each priced at $282, but all with a service fee of $325.74, which meant each ticket attracted an additional fee of $54.29.The post drew the ire of the fans, with many proclaiming their hatred for service fees. As it turns out this is common practice for Ticketmaster, as Robert Smith, The Cure’s frontman, notes. The ticketing services had overpriced the band’s tickets too, and it took the intervention of the members to bring them into an affordable range. Smith notes he was “sickened” by Ticketmaster’s pricing practices. Now it remains to be seen if Avenged Sevenfold members intervene to sort this mess out for their fans. The band launched its NFT collection back in November 2021, featuring 10,000 unique pieces boasting different traits and rarities that sought to reward holders with a variety of goodies.Want more?
