Following the release of its initial access pass and digital apparel drop, Web3 startup, MNTGE, has taken its fashion line one step further by releasing physical apparel. The new collection, known as the “Fruits & Veggies jeans drop,” showcases vintage jeans embedded with NFC tags that are linked to NFTs.The drop took place on April 26, featuring only 100 pairs of vintage Levi’s denim jeans that were upcycled by the startup’s cofounder, Sean Wotherspoon. Initially, the presale was only available to access pass holders, who had the opportunity to purchase a pair of jeans for a mere $200. After the presale period ended, non-holders were able to purchase the jeans, but at an additional cost of $50.MNTGE Pass Holders are now able to purchase Fruits & Veggies Jeans at a discounted rate w/ fiat or crypto!👖💫Ⓜ️1 pair per MNTGE PassThis Pass Holder exclusive Pre-sale window will remain open until 5pm PST.Only 100 availableGet yours below!👇https://t.co/xSuZB5r9EN pic.twitter.com/21BKEHGItq— MNTGE (@mntge_io) April 26, 2023MNTGE’s Future is Digital and PhysicalMNTGE notes that the drop also marked the launch of its storefront for physical apparel, dubbed MNTGE Market. This move allows the company to pursue a broader objective, as noted by Nick Adler, one of the startup’s cofounders. He emphasizes that the company’s future lies in both digital and physical realms.Adler goes on to explain that everything the startup had done up to this stage was geared towards building a community of collectors within Web3. Now that the company has already managed to establish a community, it can proceed to be “something that is broad and can be embraced culturally.”Each pair of jeans features an NFC tag from IYK, a Web3 startup, sewn behind the Levi tag. When scanned, buyers can claim a free NFT minted on Polygon, which serves to authenticate the originality of the apparel. Furthermore, it offers additional benefits within the MNTGE ecosystem for holders in the future, such as access to token-gated events and other experiences. Adler adds that IYK is also working on concert festival partnerships where NFT holders will enjoy exclusive privileges.“We want you to walk to music festivals and get playlists. We want you to feel like you have special access or special seating.”On the other hand, the startup wants artists that choose to collaborate with it to think, “I’m going to work with MNTGE because they’re thinking about the future, and their products are more like a brand as opposed to a merch item.”Want more?
